Step 1

Before you apply to work with Prodigy Health Solutions:

Things you will need to arrange before you apply could include obtaining a skills assessment, an English language test or undertaking a health assessment.

Get your skills assessed – Get a skills assessment if you need to. The assessment will prove you have the right skills and qualifications to do your job. Skills Assessment for Nurses and Support workers are mostly done by ANMAC, ACWA and VETASSESS.

Prodigy Health Solutions is approved to Sponsor overseas staff for Visa 482 & 494.  Under these visas there are limited Skilled Occupation classifications that you can apply for. These are skills that are needed in Australia and therefore we can only apply for sponsorship of applicants that have been approved for those roles.   

Please see the table on the next page with the list of Skilled Occupation and their reference code.  Please choose which role applies to you and your qualifications from the highlighted codes and apply for your Skills Assessment specific to one of those roles.  We have highlighted in yellow roles that we are able to use and recommend that you choose one of these.

Organise your English test – Make sure your English test results are current for this visa. You must have at least Competent English to be granted the visa. Have an English test if necessary.

English Language Requirements for Nurses and Midwives

All international qualified nurses and midwives applying for registration in Australia, must demonstrate English language proficiency. If you do not have the adequate English language requirements for registration, then there are the below tests that can be taken.

These include:

  1. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Test

Nurses and Midwives must achieve an overall minimum score of 7 in each of the four components.

  1. Occupational English Test (OET) for Nurses

Nurses and Midwives must achieve an overall Pass, with grades of A or B in all four components of the test.

  1. The PTE Academic with a minimum overall score of 65 and a minimum score of 65 in each of the four communicative skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking).

Organise health exams – This is optional at this stage of the process.  You need to have health examinations but you can complete them before you apply or you can wait until after you apply and are directed by Immigration.

 

 

Step 2

Apply to work with Prodigy Health Solutions on their website under the Overseas Staff link.

Step 3

Once you have provided the English test and Skills Assessment documents along with your Resume to Prodigy Health Solutions, we will contact you to arrange a Zoom interview.  This will take approximately 30 minutes. 

Interview with Prodigy Health Solutions

You will need to provide minimum of 2 employment references for us to contact.  After speaking with these referees, we will contact you to advise if you are successful and we want to proceed with nomination.

We will contact the Australian Immigration Department and nominate you for sponsorship.  We will be provided with a Transaction Reference Number.  We will advise you of this Transaction Reference Number (TRN) as you will need this to apply for your visa.

Step 4

Gather your documents

Documents you may have to provide could include documents for your identity, character, skills, work experience, health and English language skills.

It is imperative that you provide accurate information.

Identity documents

Age exemption documents:  If you are 45 years of age or older and eligible for an age exemption, provide documents to show you are exempt from the age eligibility criteria.

Skills and qualifications documents.

English language documents: Provide documents that show you have Competent English.

Health documents:  You do not need to provide health documents. If you have had medical exams, the results are sent to the Dept of Immigration by your doctor.

Other documents: Character documents, Partner documents, Dependants under 18 documents, Dependants over 18 documents.

Step 5

Apply for the visa – You apply for this visa online in Immi Account.

 

Step 6

After you apply – The Dept of Immigration will let you know when we have received your application.

The Dept of Immigration might ask for more information.

Biometrics – The Dept of Immigration might ask for biometrics (fingerprints and photo). They will let you know if you need to provide them.

Add family.

Step 7

Visa outcome – You can be in or outside Australia when The Dept of Immigration decide on your visa application.

About visa outcome – The Dept of Immigration must have approved your employer’s nomination before thy can grant you this visa.

The Dept of Immigration will let you know the decision about your visa application in writing.

If they grant your visa, they will tell you:

  • your visa grant number
  • the date your visa starts
  • your visa conditions.
  • Keep a copy of the decision.

If they refuse your visa, they will tell you:

  • why they refused the visa
  • whether you have a right to a review of the decision.

Step 8

Once your Visa is approved, Prodigy Health Solutions will communicate with you on the next part of the process to have you transition to Australia.

Wadzanayi (Wadza)

Rostering Coordinator

Wadza provides rostering administrative support to staff, ensuring that staff placements align with the rostering needs of the facilities. She is responsible for creating and managing staff schedules, which involves matching nurses and caregivers with client needs, optimizing staffing levels, and ensuring efficient utilization of resources. Wadza works closely with Kara collaborating to schedule shifts, maintaining records and coordinating staff assignments.

Matt

Operations Support Assistant

Matt provides crucial administrative support, insights from his experience in recruitment, coordination, and client communications. He works closely with Mac and Kara ensuring the seamless functioning of the operations and logistical requirements.

Kara

Operations Support Coordinator

Kara manages direct relationships with aged care facilities and healthcare institutions. She works to develop and maintain an extensive network of contacts with aged care providers, healthcare service coordinators and relevant state and federal organizations. Kara also manages the logistical and administrative aspects of staffing and services.

Lisa

Human Resources & Administration Manager​

Lisa is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Prodigy Health Solution’s human resources function. She manages the recruiting and hiring of employees, employee relations, ensuring compliance with labour laws, and developing HR policies and procedures, as well as handling complaints and incident reports with the facilities. Lisa plays a crucial role in supporting employee well-being and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Kim is responsible for managing the administrative functions of the organization. She oversees office operations, manages support staff, and ensures efficient administrative processes. Kim focuses on streamlining procedures, maintaining compliance with policies and regulations, and providing essential support to facilitate the smooth functioning of the organization.

Mac is the driving force behind Prodigy Health Solutions (PHS) and is responsible for overseeing daily operations. He collaborates with all departments to improve productivity, control costs and maintain quality standards while implementing strategic plans to drive growth and achieve business objectives.
